I never said so, Subra on quitting politics rumour

KUALA LUMPUR: MIC president Datuk Seri Dr S Subramaniam has denied allegation that he will quit politics as reported by several media outlets today.

He said he would continue to serve the party and call for a meeting with MIC leadership soon to discuss the future of the party.

“I have never given such statement (quitting politics). I accept the people’s verdict with an open heart,” he said when contacted by NSTP, today.

Earlier, a news portal reported that Dr Subramaniam would resign from politics to focus on his career as a dermatologist.

In the 14th General Election, Dr Subramaniam was defeated by PKR’s candidate Datuk Seri R Santhara Kumar who won the Segamat parliamentary seat with the majority of 5,476 votes.
